THE GRAHAM LEE IJF FUND STABLE STAFF STAKES generously sponsored by SKY BET

We are delighted to once again be hosting this fantastic event, for the 3rd year which will see the stable staff riders have their spin on the racecourse on Friday 24th July 2026. The race will again be in support and the riders will be lead up by the jockeys. The event which has raised £20,000 for the past two years is all in support of the Graham Lee The Injured Jockeys Fund

Please can we ask that all those wanting to apply read the full conditions and are eligible to enter.

About the race

• Maximum of 12 riders
• Approximately 7½ furlong race on the flat and therefore on the Round Course with a Flag Start
• The race is to be run ‘hands and heels’ style and the carrying of whips is not permitted
• Riders must be over the age of 18 to participate in the race.
• Riders must be BHA-registered stable personnel who are in the current employment of the
  registered training yard from which the horse they shall ride is in training
• They must NOT have held a professional apprentice and/or conditional licence within the past five years, nor riddenmore than three winners under Rules.
• The rider must have been employed by the nominating trainer for a minimum of three months.
• Riders must wear the skullcaps and safety vests as required under the current Rules of Racing
• Minimum riding weight 9 stone, maximum riding weight 11 stone.

Horses

• Horses must be registered with BHA and be rated 46 to 80*.
• Horses must be 4 years old and upwards.
• Horses must currently be in training.
• Horses must have run at least 3 times under the recognised Rules of Racing.
• The horse must be from the same yard as the rider is currently employed.
• A copy of the horse ID page and vaccination page of the passport must be submitted with the entry and compliant with BHA vaccine requirements.
