Public Car Park
All car and coach parking at Thirsk Racecourse is free of charge.
Situated on the south side of Station Road, to the rear of the main stands, this is the most conveniently placed car park for those entering the Grandstand Paddock and Picnic Enclosure. An area close to the entrance is reserved for registered disabled Blue Badge car parking permit holders.
This car park is for:
- Grandstand and Paddock and Picnic Enclosure racegoers
- Ring bookmakers
- All racecourse, CGC catering and other contractors’ staff
Should your coach driver wish to stay and enjoy the racing, they can apply for a free Grandstand Paddock and Picnic ticket. Please ask them to enquire at the ‘Coach Park’ entrance with proof of their job sheet or equivalent.
Park & View Ticket
The Park and View parking area is situated at the western end of the Racecourse, in the area designated for picnics, and so ideal for those who wish to picnic out of the boot of their car, with a view of the track.
All Park & View ticket holders also have access to the rest of the Grandstand Paddock & Picnic Enclosure, with viewing access to the Parade Ring and stands.
Park & View tickets may be purchased in advance or on the day at the designated entrance gate. A ticket includes entry with the vehicle for up to four adults (plus children who are admitted free of charge).
Please note: if there are more than four adults in the vehicle, the additional adults will be required to leave the vehicle at the entrance and pay to enter through the adjacent turnstiles.
For those with mobility issues, please note the Park & View is at the far end of the Racecourse, a distance from the Parade Ring, therefore, Park & View may not be the most suited ticket option if you like to spend time up in the Paddock.
Directional signage is located as you approach the Racecourse and the Park & View Car Park is clearly signposted at its entrance (on the north side of Station Road, beyond the western end of the stands).
This parking facility is for cars and not for commercial vehicles, minibuses or motorhomes. Mini vans used as a domestic vehicle are permitted, but no vans larger than this will be allowed entry. This is to ensure good viewing and sight lines to the track for all the other users and so taller vehicles may be asked to park at the rear of the parking area accordingly.
Bookmakers who wish to park their vehicles in this car park may do so provided they pay the requisite entry fee.
