The Course:  The Circuit at Thirsk Racecourse

A Country Course with Extensive Views
View from the Paddock The course at Thirsk is used solely for flat racing between April and September. It is made up of two sections, a straight course of 6 furlongs, running parallel to Station Road, with the start close to Thirsk Railway Station and the winning post in front of the grandstand. There is also a left hand circuit, about one and a quarter miles in length which joins the straight course some three furlongs from home.

There is a good view of the whole course from the grandstands, almost entirely against a background of open countryside.

Unless directed otherwise, car parking is on the opposite side of Station Road to the course, just a short walk from the entrances to all enclosures. The coach park is situated alongside the course. The entrances are under half a mile from Thirsk Town Centre and under 1 mile from Thirsk Rail Station.

All enclosures are well supplied with bar and catering facilities and betting points (Tote and on-course bookmakers).
