The Course:  The Circuit at Thirsk Racecourse

A Country Course with Extensive Views
View from the Paddock The course at Thirsk is used solely for flat racing between April and September. It is made up of two sections, a straight course of 6 furlongs, running parallel to Station Road, with the start close to Thirsk Railway Station and the winning post in front of the grandstand. There is also a left hand circuit, about one and a quarter miles in length which joins the straight course some three furlongs from home.

There is a good view of the whole course from the grandstands, almost entirely against a background of open countryside.

Unless directed otherwise, car parking is on the opposite side of Station Road to the course, just a short walk from the entrances to all enclosures. The coach park is situated alongside the course. The entrances are under half a mile from Thirsk Town Centre and under 1 mile from Thirsk Rail Station. Free transport is provided from and to the Station on Race Days.

All enclosures are well supplied with bar and catering facilities and betting points (Tote and on-course bookmakers).
